Underworld - Barking (CD, 2025 Reissue)

Underworld’s expansive reissue campaign on their own Smith Hyde Productions imprint finally reaches into the modern era with this new edition of 2010’s Barking LP. The sixth full length from Cardiff’s favourite sons was something of a reinvention for Underworld, as it’s the very first to feature outside producers. Bringing together a murder’s row of techno, drum and bass, and dubstep pioneers under one roof, the band weaves all these influences into a striking and thrillingly cohesive artistic statement. Whether filtering in high-drama synthpop (‘Always Loved A Film’) or widescreen electronica (‘Between Stars’) the results are unmistakably Underworld.
