Underworld’s massive 2025 reissue endeavour rolls on with this new edition of 2007’s Oblivion with Bells. Oblivion takes the opposite course of the preceding Hundred Days Off LP in that it heads straight for the dancefloor at the jump with the positively steaming ‘Crocodile’ before gradually folding out into headier, and more calming zones throughout its runtime. The shimmering ‘Glam Bucket’ in particular is a gorgeous slice of ambience that’s a far cry from the Cardiff group’s stadium-rock-as-rave beginnings and all the better for it. These detours still retain that otherworldly Underworld spirit though, proving just how elastic their core vibes can be.
