The Altar is Banks' second studio album released in 2016 after touring as the opening act for The Weeknd in 2015. This album has more R&B and electronic stylings than their other works. Shahzaib Hussain of Clash viewed The Altar as "more textured and artful than Goddess, BANKS growing into her role as a writer, upholding the sensual melancholia that characterized her debut." It features singles, "Fuck with Myself", "Gemini Feed", "Mind Games", and "To the Hilt".
