Turquoise Blue LP with Bonus 7" featuring 2 new tracks: A: It's Amazing To Be Young / B: Before You I Just Forget

Fontaines D.C. release their highly-anticipated fourth album, Romance, which is set to be one of the Albums of the Year 2024. Released via XL Recordings, this album marks the band's first collaboration with producer James Ford, resulting in their most assured, inventive, and sonically adventurous record to date.

The album follows the success of their acclaimed 2022 album, Skinty Fia, which topped the UK and Irish album charts and earned the band accolades such as "International Group of the Year" at the 2023 Brit Awards. The lead single, "Starburster", captures Fontaines D.C.'s latest creative revolution. Inspired by a panic attack experienced by lead singer Grian Chatten in London's St Pancras station, the song features a propulsive beat and unrelenting lyrics, culminating in a moment of sobering clarity. The accompanying music video, directed by Aube Perrie, enhances the song's cathartic intensity.

Romance is the band's most ambitious and expansive record yet, with 11 tracks that showcase a variety of influences. Drawing inspiration from their experiences touring with Arctic Monkeys, Fontaines D.C. have crafted a sound that combines elements of hip hop, heavy metal, and dreamy textures reminiscent of Slowdive. Reflecting on the album, Chatten remarks, "We say things on this record we've wanted to say for a long time. I never feel like it's over, but it's nice to feel lighter." Fontaines D.C. invite listeners to explore the depths of their music, embracing both the fantasy and reality of their artistry.
