LTM presents Eternity Road, a 5CD box set collecting all five studio albums released by cult Scottish post-punk and dream-pop band Lowlife, featuring former Cocteau Twins bassist Will Heggie.
Lowlife formed in Grangemouth in 1985 when Heggie joined forces with former Dead Neighbours members Craig Lorentsen, Grant McDowell and Stuart Everest. Their atmospheric and moody soundscapes drew comparisons to Joy Division, New Order, The Comsat Angels and, in later years, artists such as Interpol and Radiohead.
Disc one combines the band’s six-track debut mini-album Rain (1985) with their first full-length album Permanent Sleep, released the following year. Disc two features sophomore album Diminuendo (1987) alongside seven bonus tracks sourced from non-album singles and EPs.
Discs three and four contain the albums Godhead (1989) and San Antorium (1991), each supplemented by half of the rare demo collection Black Sessions. Disc five concludes the set with the band’s final studio album, Gush, originally issued in 1995.
All recordings have been digitally remastered. The accompanying booklet includes a band biography written by journalist and former manager Brian Guthrie, alongside photographs and artwork.
