Neil Halstead releases his debut solo album on the 4AD label. Neil started writing these nine new songs while living in the recording studio for a time - the songs developed over two years, outside of Neil’s continuing work with Mojave 3.
Sleeping On Roads is the gorgeous result. Having road-tested the songs during 2000 and 2001 in the company of Kathryn Williams and Turin Brakes, Neil fleshed them out in the studio, adding drums, percussion, electric guitar, vibes, organ, piano, an array of junkshop synths and even banjo to their bare acoustic bones.
