Tenacious D is a joint venture between comedian actor Jack Black and Kyle Gass. The duo formed the band in the mid 1990s, utilizing their musicianship to create what is now deemed as "mock rock," a comedic spin on the rock genre. They debuted with their self-titled album Tenacious D in 2001, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The band went on to become associated with artists like Dave Grohl, Phish's Page McConnell and other rock legends and comedy musicians alike.
